red cups

porcelain cups that were dipped in a red slip
and fired several times, changing the colour
to a mottled pink.
they are glazed blue only on the inside,
the outside is unglazed but polished.
thrown from very soft clay on a kickwheel,
but the trimming was done off the wheel,
using a wooden tool.
they are a composition of opposites,
fluid bodies and textured bottoms,
glossy and matt surfaces
